FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS:
In our country around 2.78% of people are not able to speak (dumb). Their communications with others are only using the motion of their hands and expressions. Some people are easily able to get the information from their motions. The remaining is not able to understand their way of conveying the message. Dumb people understand the language by using a translator. A translator helps us to understand what they speak and do to communicate to us. In order to overcome the complexity, the artificial mouth is introduced for the dumb people.
We proposed a new technique called artificial speaking mouth for dumb people. It will be very helpful to them for conveying their thoughts to others. This project mainly addresses to facilitate dumb person's lifestyle. Whenever the proposed system senses any movement, it plays corresponding recorded voice. This proposed model consist of three modules, they are sensing unit, processing unit and voice storage unit. It is achieved by integrating MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical System) sensor and APR9600 with ARDUINO micro controller. TheMEMS sensor placed in gloves, which respond to gesture. By using ADC circuit response of the sensor will becalculated bythe microcontroller.Then microcontroller plays the recorded voice using APR9600. The requirements of the dumb person displayed on LCD display with audio alert from speaker.
This system offers high reliability and fast response. This method is more precise on hand movement and different languages can be installed without altering the code in microcontroller. This reduces the communication gap between dumb and ordinary people. By properly updating the database the dumb will speak like a normal person using the artificial mouth. This project uses 5V regulated power supply for modules. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
